Hong Kong-born Elvin Lam started dancing in his late teenage years. Before dance, he trained in figure skating for 10 years and attended several competitions.
He has worked as an actor for Deaflympics cultural programs, film, TV and theatre before he strapped on his first pair of dancing shoes. He studied Latin, Ballroom, Jazz, Hip Hop, contemporary dance and ballet in different schools including The Space, Chunky Move and Dance Factory. He joined Deaf Can Dance in 2006 and performed in Melbourne, South Australia and Queensland.
Currently, he continues his training in ballet at The Australia Ballet School and is mentored by Jane Casson and Tim Podesta.
